Pup for Rent

See this sweet girl here?

She is my heart <3

We've decided to rent her out, however, to pay for her new doggy food.  Rate is negotiable, but she is sure to be loved by you and your family!  A great companion, snuggler, and she snorts often.

I mentioned Macey's struggle with allergies in this post.  We've had to go back for a few more steroid shots since I wrote that and they seem to be becoming less and less effective.  Not to mention, I don't think it's good for her to be on steriods for the rest of her life.

I've been reading a lot about dogs (and Boston Terriers) with allergies and a lot of people have had success in switching their dog's food to something grain/gluten free and with limited ingredients.  We settled on this delicous choice:

It smells sooo bad.  Like I have to hold my breath whenever I feed Macey, but I'm willing to make some sacrifices if it helps her itchy little feet.  Not to mention the price of this pretty little bag.  Umm yeah, crazy.  She's now only getting grain-free, gluten-free, chicken-free treats (sorry Grandmas!).  Basically her treats are sweet potato and ______ (lamb, beef, duck, fish, yuck!)

Dogs are not liking the weather dipping down into the 20's (!!) at night! I finally found them some sweaters that are easy to put on and actually fit them snugly (<-- is that a word?) enough to keep them warm.  So what if we get made fun of on our walks?  It's gonna be a cold winter for us Florida peeps trying to figure out how to live in Alabama.

Hugs your dogs, pay your bills, and wear your seatbelt,
Much love-

Right now...

... I've got a few candles burning to totally make our home smell like Christmas!!  Oh and the green "Pine" candle is not the same one I mentioned the other day.  I could fill our whole apartment with Christmas tree flavored candles.  I love Wal-mart candles! Yes, you heard me right.  I can't stand shopping at Wal-mart but I made a trip today to pick up some holiday candles.  Y'all...they are 5 bucks and actually smell up your house!  No more spending crazy amounts of money on Yankee Candles, okay well maybe only sometimes.

...I've got a little bit of this in my coffee cup.  I'd never tried the International Delight brand before, usually just grab the Peppermint Mocha creamer from Coffeemate.  Lemmetellya, you're gonna need to seek this one out.  I almost put a straw in the bottle.  It is that good.  I'm gonna buy some to freeze because of course, it's only seasonal. Boo!

... I've got my volume turned all the way up on my Michael Buble (Holiday) Pandora station.  Ol' Frank is serenading me right now and I'm not sure this song could be done any better.  I just loooove Christmas music!

... I've got these babies baking in the oven.  I try really hard to be a good wife :)  I think I found the recipe on Pinterest, which linked me to this blog.  She's got several healthy recipes on her site, the ones I've made have all been good!  These Chicken & Cheese Shells are 9 Points Plus for 3 shells.

We had talked about going to see Breaking Dawn tonight but after a pretty crazy week we decided to have dinner at home and watch a redbox movie in our pj's instead.  Sounds good to me!  Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Tis the Season!

Last night as I lay in bed and yanked the covers back from my husband I got to thinking about all the times that I never thought that I'd have a husband to steal my blankets.  You know girls, or most of you do anyway, the nights that you thought you'd never meet the one and you'd spend the rest of your life alone or with your 32 cats.

I got to thinking that a lot of time we tend to think about all the things that we don't have instead of focusing on the things that we do.  It is easy to get caught up in whatever season of life we're in and wish for something more, but it's important too, to look at the things that you can't get back after the seasons change.  I would never want to go back to my single days because I love my husband more than anything.  I love knowing this one person will always be on my side no matter what and knows exactly how to love me in any way I need.  It is a wonderful feeling knowing that no matter what my day brings, when I go home my husband will hold me and do his best to make things better, BUT I should've enjoyed spreading out and taking up the entire queen size bed to myself  ;)

Often when I was single I would wish to have someone in my life.  Once I had someone in my life, I wished that we would be married.  Now that we're married, I find myself thinking of  babies. (Sorry Baron!!)

I guess my point is that I'm going to try to focus on the good parts of whatever season of my life I'm living in at that very moment.

When I was single for example, I should have relished in the fact that I could eat cereal and Lean Cuisine's every. single. night. if I wanted to.  No one would ever steal my covers, and I could go three days without washing my hair!

Now that we're married and without kiddos,  I should be relishing in the 8 full hours of sleep I can be getting every night, or the fact that we can travel (easily) to lots of places, and we can be selfish and totally put ourselves first all the time.

Wherever you are in life right now, enjoy it.  If you're single, married, have a newborn at home, dealing with teenagers (at least you don't have to change their diapers!), or retired, try to enjoy the things that only come with that specific season of your life.  I think we would all be happier if we could do that.

That's all my couch talk for the day! Happy Thursday!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! Linking up with the beautiful Jamie to discuss all the things I'm loving today!!

- I'm loving that Baron got home last Sunday and we finally got to decorate for Christmas!  I loooooove Christmas decorations, but I left a lot of stuff with my best friend when I moved from Florida.  This year the plan is to be low key and buy some new stuff to use in our house next year on the day after Christmas. Yay!!

You better believe I've been burning this bad boy since December 1st! Mmmmm!

Our itty bitty tree :)  I got this for Baron's apartment for our first Christmas
when we were dating.  He wasn't going to decorate. GASP!!

- I'm loving that Max graduates from obedience school tomorrow.  Well, we hope anyways.  He's gotten noticeably more well behaved but he's by no means an angel.  Oh well, he's cute.  I'm debating on whether or not to enroll him in "Advanced Manners". Ha!

So studious!
- I'm loving that our Christmas cards are all done! Just gotta get some stamps and drop them in the mail :)  Will post a picture after I've sent them through the mail.  Don't want my Mom to get a sneak peek! :)

- I'd like to say that I'm loving that we signed off on our house plans yesterday but....we didn't.  We were notified that our plans were ready to be reviewed so we met with our realtor and the realtor for the builder and none of the plans that we had wanted were shown on the plan.  The only thing that was added was our addition of a bonus room upstairs.  Soooooo, back to the architect they go and now we wait again. ***Trying to be patient!*

Judging from the barking that's going on in the other room, I'm thinking Max will be enrolled in his next obedience class by this afternoon.  Waiting on my hubby to get home then off for a little Christmas shopping! Yay!

The Waiting Game...

Waiting...waiting...waiting...

I got an e-mail from our contact at the neighborhood where we're building and was told that they are still waiting to get the plans from the architect back so we can sign off on them.  Hmmm.

We were told it would be about 10 days until they were back, and it's now been 3 weeks and 2 days since our offer was accepted.  A little weird, but we were told by everyone who has every built a house that everything takes longer than you will be told.  It's just a little frustrating because I feel like it's not really real yet.  Good things is, we're not in a hurry and our apartment lease is good until the middle of June so hopefully we'll still have plenty of time to move instead of having to move everything in two days.

Maybe this is going to teach my patience. ;)

Share Your World Thursday!

1. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?
- I probably haven't bought the same brand of toilet paper in years.  I just pick up whatever looks good or is on sale.  I'm not picky about the cheap stuff because I just yank off a football field length of it anyways.
2. What are your top two pet peeves?
I just really don't like mean people. There's no reason to pick on people less fortunate than yourself. Period. It's not that hard to be nice to someone.
4. Tell us one of your quirks? What's different about you?
I know that I'm a really quirky person, but I can't think of any quirks off the top of my head.
5. List three of your favorite songs.
1) Free Fallin- Tom Petty (<-- Fav song ever!! Saw him live...ahhhh!)
2) Don't Stop Believin'- Journey (<---Theme song with my friends)
3) Falling in Love- Elvis (<--- First Dance song with my hubby)
