Pickin' Cotton

I don't feel like there is much to write about these days.  It's still good to be home with my husband and the dogs and get back into our routine since being in Florida.  The husband is good, the dogs are good, nothing new with me.

This past weekend we drove around and looked at some neighborhoods in our area.  We found one that we both really liked but there was no one in the model home for us to look around.  We did our best, sneaking through the backyard gate to peep through the windows and explore.  Sometimes it's so frustrating to track down someone in these new construction communities to get more information.  I mean, what if we wanted to buy something today?! Too bad, I guess.

While we were driving around we noticed that all the cotton in Alabama must've started blooming while we were out of town.  It's so neat! The fields almost look like they are covered with snow.  Baron stopped so I could pick some, don't tell the farmer!!

I've had a artsy steak lately and made a wreath for our frontdoor which I probably shouldn't post on here because if I know you in real life I may be sending one to you for Christmas or your birthday! Hope you like it ;)  Haha!

I finished this one just in time for the Florida vs. Alabama game this weekend. I'm hoping none of my lovely neighbors decide to hurt my pretty wreath made with love and about 1 billion straight pins. It's a standout decoration in a sea of "Roll Tide" garbage.

I'm alive!

Sorry for the lack of posting lately.  Baron had to go to Maryland for work for two whole weeks, so I took Macey and Max to Florida for a long visit.  Two weeks ago, Lindsay flew up to good ol' Alabama and the very next day we made the 11 hour car trip back down to Florida.  Trying to be all "internet-safe", I didn't want to post on the blog that my house would be totally empty for two weeks :)

I had a great time in Florida. It was so nice to spend time with my family and friends.  It wasn't long enough, but at the same time I was anxious to get back "home".  Baron and I haven't been apart for even one night since we've been married so it was hard to be apart for so long.  We actually came back a day early because Baron got to come back early, he beat us home! The dogs were angels in the car, with the help of some Benadryl.  I was also good, with the help of Lindsay, Diet Cokes, and a book on tape for the loooong trip back all by myself.

I brought the camera down to Florida but I don't think I ever took it out of my suitcase. Oops, I'm a bad blogger :(  I did take a handful of pictures on my phone:

Max says "I'm ready for FLORIDA!!"

Love my Macey girl!

My Dad with 3 "BT's" as he calls them.
He was in heaven!
So glad I got to see Rachel at church.
Can't believe how grown up she is!
My "little" brother

I can't believe that we are two days into September!  Where did August go?  Heck, where did March, April, and May go?!  I think to say that Baron and I have had an eventful year is an understatement, it has been a great year and we are coming out on the other end still smiling which is what's really important.

I told myself I was going to by a new workout shirt when I lost ten pounds.  I couldn't really find one that I liked, so I decided to cut my hair instead.  I know, the rationale really isn't there ;)

Please excuse the cellphone-self photos.  I apparently have no shame.

Can you say SHORT?! I think I love it, but I'm not sure yet.  Usually takes me a day or six to decide whether I like a haircut or not.

It's Friday and it's a three day weekend! Yay!
